Horace L. Hesse

Horace L. Hesse, 86, of Hermann, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at StoneBridge Hermann.

Horace was born in Hermann, Missouri on October 23, 1936, the son of the late Clarence & Anna (Kemper) Hesse.

Horace proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was stationed in Japan from 1954-1956. He was self-employed in construction work and also farmed.

He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star and was a 50-year member of  Hermann Masonic Lodge #123 A.F & A.M.

Horace is survived by a brother, Charles Hesse, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a nephew, Jacob Hesse and family, of Jefferson City, Missouri, a niece, Kathryn Hesse and family of Lake Forest, California, a niece, Liralen Miers and family of Blacksburg, Virginia, and a cousin, Janette McRoberts and family, of Union, Missouri.  

Horace appreciated all of his many friends throughout the community and was active with local historical societies and the Brush and Palette Club.  Horace was very thankful for his many visitors while at Frene Valley and had an "Oh boy" for just about everyone.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Thursday, September 7th at 11:00 am.

Burial will be in the Kemper Family Cemetery, south of Hermann.  Memorial donation may be given to the St. Paul United Church of Christ.
