Herbert Charles Hurst

Herbert Charles Hurst, 60, of Hermann, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri. 

Herb was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on December 23, 1963, the son of the late Andrew & Martha (Webber) Hurst.

Herb was an electrician and owned & operated Hurst Electric with his father Andrew.  In his free time he loved to tinker with old cars and put models together.  He also loved a good rainy thunderstorm.

Herb is survived by his significant other of many years, Melissa Stiegman, of Hermann, Missouri; two sons Christopher Hurst, of Fulton, Missouri; and Sam Hurst & girlfriend Reyawnna Poole, of Hermann, Missouri; by three sisters, Theresa Dietz, of Hermann, Missouri; Carolyn Hurst, of Hermann, Missouri; and Virginia Wolf, of Morrison, Missouri; an aunt, Norma Veltre, of Union, Missouri; he's also survived by Melissa's family, Norma Jean Stiegman, Mark Stiegman & wife Maggie, Monica Stiegman and Norman Stiegman and by many nieces, nephews and friends.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Hurst, a brother-in-law Danny Wolf, a niece, Jill Hanger-Elfline and a great nephew, Elijah Garner.

A private graveside service will be held at St. George Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
