Henry Gregory Chrun

Henry Gregory Chrun, 97, of Owensville, MO, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Missouri.

Henry was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 26, 1923, a son of the late Gregory & Sophie Chrun.

He was united in marriage to Sophie (Hauschild) Chrun on December 31, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri.  She preceded him in death on August 28, 1984.

Henry proudly served in the United States Air Force during WWII.  He worked as an assembly line worker for Crown Cork & Seal for 30 years. 

Henry had a passion for flying planes and owned a small plane at one time in his life.  Something about Henry his family will always remember is when anyone would ask him how he was doing his response was always "fine and dandy, sweet as candy".

Henry is survived by a son, Kenneth Chrun, of Mobile, Alabama, and numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ted & Ed Chrun and a half-sister, Lillian Schmitt.

Burial will be Monday, June 1st at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.  Memorials may be given to Franklin County Humane Society.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
