Harvey Oscar Lalk, 94, of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home, Owensville, Missouri.

Harvey was born in Morrison, Missouri on December 18, 1927, the son of the late Oscar B. & Esther A. (Vehlewald) Lalk.

He was the husband of Elaine A. (Tietjens) Lalk.  They were united in marriage on November 9. 1984, in Hermann, Missouri. 

Harvey proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII, where he was stationed on a ship in Guam.  After being honorably discharged from the Navy he went back and finished high school.  After graduating high school he attended Jefferson City Junior College.  After college he went to work in Washington D.C. in civil service for 15 years with the Army and 17 years with the Navy, where he retired after 32 years.  During these years he served as a fingerprint expert, administrative officer, program analyst, and finished his career as a budget analyst for the Navy.  His final project was budgeting for armament for Aegis Ships.  During his 32 years in civil service he received 3 Outstanding Performance Awards.

Harvey was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann and the Hermann Lions Club.

Harvey is survived by his wife Elaine Lalk, of Hermann; two daughters, Christine Foote & husband Brad, of Washoe Valley, Nevada; and Patricia Thompson & husband Steve, of Owensville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Heather Schlottach & husband Martin, Kelly Wright & husband Dan and Kurtis Lansford & wife Stacey, Sean Dunn and Montana and Ravyn Routsis, by ten great grandchildren, Blake & Brett Scheel, Lillian Sample, Pierce & Drake Schlottach, Karson & Karlee Wright and Kaden, Rylie and Logan Lansford and by two nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Darwin & Charles Lalk.

Memorial services will be private.  Memorials requested to St. Paul U.C.C. or Historic Hermann.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
