Harvey Oscar Cramer, 89, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at StoneBridge Hermann.
Harvey was born in Morrison, Missouri on December 24, 1933, the son of the late William & Clara (Apel) Cramer.
Harvey was united in marriage to Ruth Schuetz on October 11, 1952 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermann. They were married for 50 years, until Ruth passed away on February 11, 2003. On January 7, 2006 Harvey married again to Dolores Spaunhorst at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Clover Bottom, Missouri. Dolores preceded him in death on April 23, 2022.
Harvey was a very active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, where he served on the adult fellowship, three terms on the church council and other church committees. He was also a member of the Hermann Jaycees, the Rhineland Wurstjaegers, and the Hermann City Council. In his free time Harvey enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing pinochle, dancing and spending time with his family.
He was the owner and operator of Harvey's Body Shop in Hermann for many years, until his retirement. His son Merlin then took over the business, which is now owned by his grandson, Tim Cramer.
Harvey is survived by a son, Merlin Cramer & wife JoAnn, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Diana Cramer, of Hermann, Missouri; four step daughters, Barbara Feldmann, of Washington, Missouri; Debbie Sullentrup & husband Tom, of Washington, Missouri; Brenda Jasper & husband Jim, of Washington, Missouri; and Vicky Logan & husband Kevin, of Washington, Missouri; a step son, Michael Spaunhorst & wife Joleen, of Washington, Missouri; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren and 21 step great grandchildren. Harvey & Ruth fostered five foster children and they also fostered a foreign exchange student, Alida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ruth Cramer, his second wife, Dolores Cramer, a son, Ricky Cramer, a great grandson, Daniel Duncan, a step daughter, Susan Spaunhorst, by seven brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, Missouri, with Rev. Andy Wilson officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann. Memorials may be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
