Glenda Yvonne Gardner, 83, of Washington, MO, formerly of Berger, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Glenda was born in Fayette, Alabama on July 22, 1937, the daughter of the late Theodore & Helen (Alberson) Barnett.
She was united in marriage to Elijah "Buck" Arie Gardner on September 13, 1955, in New Madrid, Missouri. Buck preceded her in death on October 27, 2001.
Glenda was a member of Church of Christ, Union, Missouri. She worked as a seamstress for Langenberg Hat Factory in Berger for many years until her retirement.
Glenda is survived by three sons, Randall Gardner & wife Deborah, of Berger, Missouri; Jeffrey Gardner, Sr. & wife Zina, of Washington, Missouri; and Christopher Gardner & wife Melissa, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania;
by two daughters-in-law, Debbie Dover, of Berger, Missouri; and Anita Koelling, of Owensville, Missouri;by 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, two sisters, Eloese Henson, of Florida; and LaGuin Barnett, of Bland, Missouri; and a brother, Alton Barnett, of California.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Royce & Anthony Gardner, by three sisters and six brothers.
Glenda adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and getting to spend time with them was her greatest joy. She enjoyed sewing and did a lot of embroidery work and quilting for her family. She also enjoyed doing puzzles.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Berger, Missouri. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
