Genevieve M. (Reuter) Hitzeman

Genevieve M. Hitzeman, 89, of Ballwin, MO, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Brookdale West County Senior Living,  Ballwin, MO.

Genevieve was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 5, 1931, a daughter of the late John & Helen (Silber) Reuter.

She was the widow of Herbert Fred Hitzeman.  They were united in marriage on March 1, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church, St. Louis, MO.  Herbert preceded her in death on January 17, 2009.

Genevieve was an art teacher for the Parkway School District and also for Washington University.

She is survived by a son, John Herbert Hitzeman & wife Nancy, of Wildwood, Missouri; two brothers, James Reuter, of St. Louis, Missouri; and John Reutter III, of Chesterfield, Missouri; a grandson, John P. Hitzeman & wife Ashley, of Warrenton, Missouri; and a granddaughter, Molly Dittmer & husband Jon, of Webster Groves, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister-in-law Lois Jean Whitesitt.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 19th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Hermann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Sam Fox School of Design at Washington University.
