Obituary


Geneva P. Kemper, 90, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at Stonebridge Hermann.

Geneva was born in Gasconade, Missouri on July 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Lydia (Budnick) and Floyd  Blackwell. 

She was the loving wife of Terry Kemper.  They were married in the Assumption Catholic Church, Morrison, Missouri. Terry Passed away on April 7, 2020.

For more than 60 years Geneva was a resident of Hermann and an active member of St. George Catholic Church. Geneva served as the past President of the St. George Home  and School organization, which she devoted many hours volunteering for the school. She as also past President of the Ladies Sodality.  She was an active member of the St. George Choir for over 40 years. Geneva was very devoted to her church which she spent many hours with her friend Jeanette Landolt decorating the church for the many activities throughout the year. She as a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and a founding member of the local Red Hat Society. During her working years she was employed at Rite Point, International Shoe Co.,  Bevco Co. and Hawthorn Co.

Geneva is survived by three children, Lana Dinehart, of Pacific, Missouri; Lynn Armstrong & husband Richard, of Florissant, Missouri; and Todd Kemper & wife Nancy, of Pacific, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Sara Shields & husband Tad, of St. Peters, Missouri; Andrew Armstrong & wife Kristy, of Alma, Wisconsin; David Armstrong, of Florissant, Missouri; Jenifer Kemper, Lonie Kemper and  Jason Kemper,  all of Pacific, Missouri;  and Teri Hassler and husband  Jacob of Villa Ridge, MO; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kemper Armstrong, Ian and Alexis Shields and Rori Hassler.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at St. George Church, Hermann, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.  

Burial will be at St. George Cemetery.

Family requests donations to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
