Gary G. Hoffmann, 90, of New Haven, MO, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at New Haven Care Center.
Gary was born in Hermann, Missouri on November 16, 1934, the son of the late William F. & Meta E. (Heinlein) Hoffmann.
He was united in marriage to Darlene T. (Speckhals) Hoffmann on August 2, 1958, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven. Together they shared almost 60 years of marriage. Darlene preceded him in death on June 26, 2017.
Gary proudly served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He worked for the Missouri Highway Patrol as a driver examiner
He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, where he also served on the church council for several years. Gary was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He loved his daily happy hour with friends and family and making & selling horseradish.
Gary is survived by a son, Kirk Hoffmann & wife Karen, of New Haven, Missouri; three daughters, Connie, Herbert & husband Joe, of St. Charles, Missouri; Patty Riegel & friend Barry, of New Haven, Missouri; and Kathy Schaffer & husband Chuck, of Washington, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Hildegard Helm, of New Florence, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Jana Cunningham & husband Randy, Daniel McDonald & wife Kate, Cali Beul & husband Danny, Kyle Hoffmann & friend Erica, Kelly Brown & husband Drew Kimberly Addison & husband Noah, Adam Riegel & wife Ashleigh, Joshua Riegel & fiancee Cassie, Brandon Schaffer & wife Hannah, Nicholas Schaffer & Rachel Hagemann & husband Mike, 14 great grandchildren, Macy Hodge & husband Joe, Matthew Barbarick & friend Bethanie, Madison Barbarick & friend Brennan, Kennedy Parker, Miles McDonald, Taylor, Paige & Emmy Beul, Bailey, Fletcher & Theodore Riegel, Hudson & Wesley Schaffer and Liliana Hagemann and two great-great grandchildren, Aiden & Erikson Hodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Howard Hoffmann & wife Eva Mae, Norman Hoffmann & wife Ila Mae and Donald Hoffmann and a son-in-law, Kurt Riegel
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven,with Rev. Gary Schulte officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's U.C.C. or St. Peter's Cemetery.
