Florence P. (Grotewiel) Brueggen

Florence P. Brueggen, 96, of Hermann, MO, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at StoneBridge Senior Living, Hermann, Missouri. 

Florence was born in Americus, Missouri on July 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Walter & Katherine (Theissen) Grotewiel.

She was united in marriage to Norbert H. Brueggen on July 1, 1952, in Montgomery City, Missouri. Together they shared 63 years of marriage.  Norbert preceded her in death on November 13, 2015.

She is survived by many nieces & nephews.

Florence was a member of St. George Church, Hermann.  She worked at International & Florsheim Shoe Companies for 22 years.  She also worked as a secretary for CJ Harris Lumber Yard in Hermann, United Lumber Yard in Overland, and Benson Brothers Lumber Yard in Sedalia, Missouri 

A memorial mass will be held Friday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating. 

Memorials may be given to St. George Church or Masses.
