Esther W. Hoemann, 87, of New Haven, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at New Haven Care Center, surrounded by family.
Esther was born in New Haven, Missouri on January 3, 1939, the daughter of the late Herman A. & Amanda K. (Nolting) Walkenhorst.
She was the widow of Harvey H. Hoemann. They were united in marriage on September 30, 1961, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, New Haven, MO. They made their home living on the family farm and 3 children were born to this marriage. The family still shares this farm. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, after her marriage she joined her husband at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. Harvey preceded her in death on January 9, 2006.
Esther was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Port Hudson, and the ladies aid. She enjoyed many activities for the church, especially the ladies aid gatherings and helping with VBS.
She was a homemaker and worked for a short time for Langenberg Hat Factory in New Haven. Esther was a stay at home mom and loved helping Harvey on their farm.
Esther enjoyed quilting, makes doilies, doing crossword puzzles, gardening & canning, and mostly loved playing bingo and dominos. She loved spending time with her family & friends, especially her grandchildren. Since Esther didn't drive, she loved going on outings with friends and she never met a stranger.
Esther is survived by a son, Donald Hoemann & wife Melissa Pehle-Hoemann, of New Haven, Missouri; two daughters, Mary Adams & husband Bryan, of New Haven, Missouri; and Glenda Alexander & husband John, of Gerald, Missouri; two sisters, Luella Scheer and Viola Unger, both of New Haven, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Corey Adams & wife Sarah, of New Haven, Missouri; Cody Adams & special friend Samariah, of Kansas City, Missouri; Cole Adams, of New Haven, and Jacob & Blake Alexander, of Gerald, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers-in-law, Melvin Scheer & Leland Unger.
Visitation will be Friday, February 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Port Hudson, Missouri, with Rev. James Wilshusen & Rev. William Zastrow officiating.
Burial will be at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Ebenezer Lutheran Church or New Haven Care Center.
