Emma C. (Diederich) Schmidt

Emma C. Schmidt, 95, of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at her home. 

Emma was born in Berger, Missouri on February 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph & Meta (Vohs) Diederich.

She was united in marriage to John A. Schmidt on July 30, 1966, in Gasconade, Missouri.  John preceded her in death on April 4, 1998.

Emma was a member of Hermann United Methodist Church, Hermann, Missouri.  She worked for Langenberg Hat Company as a seamstress. 

Emma is survived by three step daughters, Connie Smith, of Jefferson City, Missouri; Linda Napier, of Hermann, Missouri; and Sandra Beckwith, of Winter Haven, Florida; a step son, Thomas Schmidt, of Vandalia, Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Lillie Sessler.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dawn Gerard officiating.

Burial will be at Big Spring Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be given to Hermann United Methodist Church, American Diabetes Association or Hermann Hospital.
