Elsie Erna (Dierking) Gerlemann

Elsie Erna Gerlemann, 94, of New Haven, MO, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri. 

Elsie was born in Beaufort, Missouri on July 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Edwin H. & Wilhelmina (Borgmann) Dierking.  She lived on the family farm until she married.

She was united in marriage on October 14, 1950 to Eugene W. Gerlemann at St. Peters United Church of Christ, New Haven.  Eugene preceded her in death on May 6, 2019.

Elsie was a homemaker until the children were raised, and then she had various jobs.  She drove a school bus, had a catering partnership with another lady, and worked with several companies that would clean houses after a fire.  She loved cooking and being outdoors but in her later years her true love was having the family together with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was blessed with four sons, who all survive, Steve Gerlemann, of New Haven, Missouri; Charles Gerlemann, of New Haven, Missouri; Paul Gerlemann, of Gerald, Missouri; and James Gerlemann & wife Lisa, of New Haven, Missouri; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Calkins, of Beaufort, Missouri and many nieces & nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law, Sue Gerlemann, two sisters, Esther Brandt and Gladys Bolte and brothers, Elmer, Alfred, Raymond, Walter and Chester Dierking.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Stone Church, Gerald, Missouri.  

Burial will be at  Ebenezer Stone Church Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Ebenezer Stone Church Cemetery.
