Edith "Edie" Mure Obituary

Edith "Edie" Mure, of Hermann, MO, gained her wings July 10, 2020 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.  She was born January 28, 1940 in Pacific, MO to Mary (Baker) Rodgers and James C. Rodgers.

She was united in marriage on on December 7, 1957 to Leroy Mure who survives at the home.

Edith graduated from Valley Park High School and later in life took several courses at East Central College in Union, MO.  Edith worked at Hermann Area District Hospital, first in the purchasing department, then admissions and finally as systems analyst when she retired after 35 years.

She loved spending time with family, cooking, shopping and traveling with her husband and good friends Welton & Rosie Brison after retirement.  She and co-worker Shirley Viola started the Community Christmas Eve dinner, providing free meals to the community for over 20 years.  Her home was always open, if someone needed a place to live.

Edith is survived by her husband Leroy, daughter Muriel (Billy) Brison, a son Leroy A. (Debbie) Mure and daughter Vanessa Mure, and grandsons, Eli and Marshall, all of Hermann.  She is also survived by brothers Archie (Marie) Rodgers, of St. Louis, and Emmett Rodgers, and one sister Darlene Rodgers, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also leaves 12 sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, and multiple nieces and nephews, and friend Judy McGee. While a resident at the nursing home she somehow gained a personal shopper, Aimee Kley, a personal beautician and prayer warrior, Donna Matech, her spa princess Ashley Overkamp, and her go to aide Trish Cheeks.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one son Saverne and a grandson Travis.

There will be no visitation but there will be a celebration of her life at graveside services on Saturday, July 18th, 2020 at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann, MO at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Billy Brison officiating.
