Donald "Donnie" Nichols Obituary

Donald "Donnie" Joe Nichols, 58, of Swiss, MO, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his home after a short battle with lung cancer.
 
Donnie was born in Baldwin Park, California on January 21, 1964, the son of the late James "Jim" & Charlotte "Jane" (Furze) Nichols.  Donnie attended New Haven School District.
 
Donnie was a self-employed electrician and ran Don Nichols Services.  He was also Terry & Peggy Hammers right hand man at Hermann Hill where he enjoyed working with all of the staff.  He was previously employed with Greg Stephan Electrical Services, Midwest Metal Fabrications, Neuman's Scrap Yard and at Craig Automotive over the years. 
 
In his free time Donnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with family and friends, going on the river, listening to the Saturday morning oldie's and country gold.  Johnny Paycheck, The Old Violin was his favorite song.
 
Donnie is survived by two daughters, Jessica Gloe & husband Alan, of Hermann, Missouri and Jamie Nichols & fiance Jeremy Voss, of Hermann; by four grandchildren, Keegan Zimmermann, Jillian Burris and Austin & Elliot Gloe; three brothers, Ronald Knight, of Tomball, Texas; David Knight & wife Mary, of Tomball, Texas; Simeon Scovel & wife Laura, of Ontario, California; by special friends, Kevin Krull, Jeff Burris, Greg & Nancy Stephan and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Susan Radar and Marion Gerloff.
 
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.  Arrangement are under the direction of Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
