Donald L. Springer Sr.

Donald L. Springer Sr., 98, of Hermann, MO, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026 at his home.

Donald was born in West Alton, Missouri on March 11, 1928, the son of the late Joseph & Mamie (Malson)Springer.

He was united in marriage to Angela M. (Springman) Springer on April 23, 1949, at St. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church in Alton, Illinois.  Together they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage.  Angela preceded him in death on October 11, 2018.

Donald was a member of St. George Church, Hermann and the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed building things, and taking day trips and seeing the countryside.

Donald is survived by a daughter, Janet Neustadt & husband Melvin, of West Alton, Missouri; a son, Don Springer Jr. & wife Janet, of Jerseyville, Illinois; a daughter, Mary Jane Leonhard & husband Mark, of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter, Jeanne Theissen & husband Chris, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, John Springer & spouse Craig Hoffman, of Wentzville, Missouri; two brothers, Karl Springer, of Brighton, Illinois; and Bob Springer, of West Alton, Missouri; a sister, Janice Samples, of Brighton, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter, Mary Joan Poole.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, where a memorial mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Father Philip Niekamp officiating. 

Burial will be at St. George Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to St. George Cemetery.
