Donald Oscar Scheer, age 77, passed away September 16th, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri.
Donald was born in New Haven on July 30th, 1945 the son of the late John and Edna (nee Hoelscher) Scheer.
Donald worked at the Chrysler assembly plant in Fenton, Missouri. After his retirement from Chrysler, he worked at the New Haven City Park.
He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in New Haven.
He is survived by two sons, John Scheer and wife Janice, of St. Charles; and Jeff Scheer and wife Linda, of Thomaston, Georgia; his grandchildren, Daniel Scheer, Jaimie Binkley, Amy Jo Scheer, Gina Scheer, Jesse Scheer, Jacey Esparza, Jayden Scheer, Samara Dinnius, Brian Scheer, Benjamin Scheer, Lucas Scheer and one great granddaughter Vanessa Frericks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Scheer, three sisters, Doris Adams, Ermalee Pehle, and Leola Weiser, and by two brothers, Glen and Earl Scheer and a granddaughter, Jubilee Scheer.
Don enjoyed cutting grass, raising sweet potatoes, and visiting people around town or in the nursing home. One of his biggest disappointments was when the Colony House restaurant closed in town. He really missed his daily chit chat with other locals from around town.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven Missouri.
Burial will be in the New Haven Cemetery. Memorials will be given to Memorial Baptist Church.
