Don H. Kuester, 83, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hermann Area District Hospital.
Don was born in Morrison, Missouri on November 13, 1940, the son of the late Herman & Hilda (Schollmeyer) Kuester.
He was united in marriage to Ruby May Kuebler on September 2, 1961. Together they had three children, Sheila, David and Donna. Ruby preceded him in death on April 15, 1994. He later married Linda Faerber on July 10, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Don was a former member of Hermann Eagles and Hermann Rod & Gun Club. He was affiliated with St. James U.C.C., Morrison and was an alderman in Gasconade for many years.
Don started his career working at B-Line Systems as an accountant. When he moved back to Missouri he bought a retail butcher shop & bar in Morrison that he owned & operated, called Don's Place. After closing his business he went to work for several years at Gen Corp and later went back to cutting meat at Loutre Market and Village Market in Hermann.
Don is survived by his wife, Linda Kuester, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Sheila Karns & husband Rod, of Montgomery, Texas; a son, David Kuester & wife June, of Gasconade, Missouri; a son-in-law, Danny Sanford, of Portland, Missouri; two step daughters, Donna Struttman & husband Mike, of McKittrick, Missouri; and Glenda Shockley & special friend Todd Troyer, of Hermann, Missouri; a step son, Chris Eikel & special friend Cassandra Struckhoff, of Hermann, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruby, a daughter, Donna Sanford, a son-in-law, Scott Shockley, a brother Arlen Kuester, a sister LaVerne Brinkmann, a sister-in-law Georgia Kuester, and a brother-in-law Orville Brinkmann.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to Hermann Hospital, Hermann Ambulance, or Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison.
