Denis Frederick Hagedorn

Denis Frederick Hagedorn, 92, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on September 22, 2018 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge surrounded by his family.

Denis was born in Rhineland, Missouri, on December 14, 1925, a son of the late Albert J. & Irene H. (Leuenberger) Hagedorn.

He was the husband of Edna Mae (Krattli) Hagedorn.  They were united in marriage on April 3, 1948, at St. Joseph Church, Rhineland, Missouri.  Edna Mae survives in Hermann.

Denis is also survived by  a daughter, Denise Walkenbach & husband Gerry, of Kansas City, Missouri; a son Tom Hagedorn & wife Joyce, of California, Missouri; a daughter, Melinda Carel & husband Ron, of Chesterfield, Missouri; and a son, Bob Hagedorn & wife Karen, of Centralia, Missouri, by a brother, Wayne Hagedorn, a sister, Betty Ann Gerber, sister in-law Leona Meyer all of Hermann, and by 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Beatrice Kuhn, one sister in-law, Marcella Hagedorn, and  brother-in-laws Joe Kuhn, Helmuth (Monk) Schaefer, Milton Krattli, Benny Gosen, Gordon Gerber, & Glen Meyer.

Denis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He was a member of St. George Church of Hermann, the Hermann Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion of Rhineland, and the V.F.W. Post 4182 of Hermann.  He was co-owner and operator of Theissen & Company and then was a bank teller for Peoples Savings Bank of Rhineland.

Denis' greatest joy in his life was his family. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren unconditionally.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann.  

Burial will be at Loutre Island Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Loutre Island Cemetery or St. George School.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
