Debra A. Henderson, of Jonesburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, just days before her 71st birthday. Born on March 13, 1955, in Marietta, Georgia, Debra lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep love for family, animals, and making others feel at home.
Debra was the beloved wife of Roger Henderson and a devoted mother to Julie Telle (Paul) and Roger Henderson Jr. (Shawna). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Paul Telle Jr. and Emily Johns (Arend), and a joyful great-grandmother to Kade Telle. Her family was the center of her world, and she never missed an opportunity to remind them she loved them “to the moon and back.”
She was preceded in death by her father, John V. Smith, and her cherished Yorkie, Angie, who held a very special place in her heart.
Debra spent many years working in retail management at Walmart before becoming the deli manager at Loutre Market, where she was known for her hard work, friendly personality, and genuine care for the people around her. Wherever she worked, Debra had a way of making coworkers and customers alike feel welcome.
Those who knew Debra will remember how she lit up every room she entered. With her contagious smile, outgoing spirit, and a little bit of sass, she brought joy wherever she went. She was often singing and dancing around the house, filling her home with life and laughter.
Her home was truly her happy place. Debra loved decorating and was always rearranging something to make the space feel fresh and inviting. She was a phenomenal cook and an incredible hostess, happiest when her home was full of the people she loved. She had a gift for making everyone feel comfortable, cared for, and welcomed.
Debra also had a deep love for animals and was a devoted caretaker to all creatures big and small. She especially enjoyed watching and caring for her hummingbirds and spending time with her beloved cats, Jeremiah and Eleanor.
One of the projects closest to her heart was the dollhouse she had been lovingly working on for her granddaughter—a reflection of the thoughtfulness and love she poured into everything she did for her family.
When she wasn’t busy caring for others, Debra could often be found enjoying her favorite Hallmark movies, wrapped in the comfort of simple joys and the warmth of home.
Debra’s love, laughter, and generous spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
A private celebration of life will be held by her immediate family on what would have been her birthday, honoring the beautiful life she lived.
Debra will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will continue to shine through her family for generations to come.
