Deborah Joanne Causey, 69, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home after an extended illness.
Deborah was born in Burlington, Iowa on July 23, 1952, a daughter of the late Robert James & Evelyn (Eaves) Butts.
She was the wife of James A. Causey. They were married on October 30, 1971, in Burlington, Iowa.
Deborah worked 16 years at Bandag Rubber Company in Muscatine, Iowa. She then opened her own custom sewing and alterations business in Burlington, where she worked for 14 years.
Deborah was a devoted wife and mother and could do almost anything. Her and James moved to the Hermann area in 2005, where she was secretary and book keeper for the community center.
Deborah is survived by her husband James, a daughter, Sarah Chewning & husband Shannon, of Roseville, Illinois; a son, Robert Causey & wife Melody, of Burlington, Iowa; a step daughter, Michelle Darrow & husband Vince, of Blue Grass, Iowa; a sister, Jenni Shaklett & husband Tom, of Farmington, Iowa,grandchildren, John and Oceanna of Jefferson City, Missouri; Kaite Whitehall and husband Jay, of Middland, Michigan; Joshua James Ash of Muscaline, Iowa; Jeramie Anderson & wife Victoria, of Blue Grass, Iowa and Isabela Chewning, of Roseville, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents and her step mother, Christa Butts.
Deborah was loved by her friends and neighbors in the close knit Brown Shanty Community. She will be sorely missed by her loved ones. As per her wishes no services are planned. A celebration of life service may be planned in the Spring. Arrangements are under the direction Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
