David Lee Steiger, 78, of New Haven, MO, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 at New Haven Care Center.
David was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 30, 1946, the son of the late Irvin & Marjorie (Kuddes)Steiger.
David worked for Canam Steel in Washington, Missouri for over 30 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, New Haven, where he was a member of the men's club and enjoyed his turn of bringing in ice cream to the club. He was also a member of the New Haven Lions Club and participated in the Special Olympics.
Growing up David was active in 4-H, showing dairy cattle. In doing that he formed a love for farming that went into adulthood, along with his love for John Deere tractors.
David always greeted people with a smile. He loved St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, the Mizzou Tigers, St. Louis Blues and Kansas City Chiefs. He was a true sports fan.
David is survived by a sister, Donna Kircher, of New Haven, Missouri; a brother, Dean Steiger & wife Jeen, of Washington, Missouri and nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dwayne Von Steiger and a brother-in-law Phillip Kircher.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 26th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, New Haven, Missouri, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. James Wilshusen officiating.
Burial will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given New Haven Care Center.
