Clarene "Mutzie" (LaBoube) Grass

Clarene "Mutzie" A. Grass, 87, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 at StoneBridge Senior Living, Hermann, Missouri.

Mutzie was born in Little Berger, Missouri on August 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Frank & Clara (Gatzemeyer) LaBoube.

She was united in marriage to Warren C. Grass on April 27, 1957, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Little Berger, MO. Together they shared 65 years of marriage.  Warren preceded her in death on December 14, 2022.

Mutzie started working when she was 16 years old at International Shoe Factory and then for Florsheim Shoe.  She was a member of St. George Church, Hermann.

Mutzie is survived by a daughter, Janet Witthaus & husband Kevin, of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Jeff Grass & wife Lynn, of Hermann, Missouri; a grandson; Jesse Witthaus & wife Krystal, of Hermann, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Alivia and Cooper Witthaus; a brother, Frank "Jim" LaBoube, of Hermann, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Amanda Witthaus, sisters, Laverne Weber and Irene Schweerkotting and brothers, Virgil and Harvey LaBoube.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 24th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.

Burial will be at St. George Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be given to Amanda Witthaus Memorial Scholarship or St. George Church.
