Clarence William Grotewiel III, 68, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, in Memphis, TN.
Clarence, better known as “Bill, Billy, C.W., and Pawpaw” was born to the late Clarence William, Jr. and Lillis Ivoda “Peggy” (Burk) Grotewiel, in Union City, TN.
Billy was one of a kind, never missing the opportunity to make someone laugh. He was the life of the family gatherings and a true comedian. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and in general being outdoors, but he was happiest at the Family Farm in Missouri. He was loving, caring, and strong willed in many ways. But above all, his greatest passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all those that loved and cherished him.
Billy is survived by the love of his life, Zerry Grotewiel, of Hernando, MS; children, Jennifer (Jon) Parks, of Gun Barrel City, TX, Tiffany Grotewiel, of Hernando, Ashley Morman (Chase), of Buchannan, TN, Clarence William (Lauren) Grotewiel IV, of Hernando, Kerry Paige Grotewiel, also of Hernando; and Bridgett Echols, of Memphis, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Clifton Tyler (Catelynn) Pruitt, Skyler Pruitt, Faith Parks, Elijah Parks, Landon Walker, Blake Walker, Alissa (Dawson) Futral, Bralon Morman, Destiny Grotewiel, Avery Grotewiel, Clarence William Grotewiel V, Thorn Grotewiel, Maverick (Alexis) Echols and Mason Echols; three great-grandchildren, Nova Brooke Futral,Adalynn Rene Thompson and Cora Echols; siblings, Sharron Grotewiel and Terri (Doug) Campbell, both of Byhalia, MS, and Marshall Hale Grotewiel, of Smyrna, TN; nieces, Meagan (Bobby) Simon and Haley Grotewiel; nephew, Aaron Grotewiel; and cousins, Tom (Janice) Granger and Scott (Nancy) Granger.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 29, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Bro. Billy Shackleford will officiate.
Graveside services will be Friday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Big Spring, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Mr. Clarence William Grotewiel III can be made to Liberty Baptist Church.
