Charlie Dean Bell, age 10, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on April 14, 2026.
She was born on March 11, 2016, and brought immeasurable joy, light, and love to everyone who knew her during her time here.
Charlie was a bright and spirited soul—outgoing, fearless, adventurous, and deeply compassionate. She had a natural gift for connecting with others and could make a friend within minutes of arriving anywhere. Her positive energy and constant smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She had a deep love for all living things, especially insects, reptiles, and animals of every kind. Charlie found joy in collecting stuffed animals, reading, and gathering rocks, each one a small treasure to her. Among her most cherished companions was her beloved stuffed cat, “Black Cat,” who was always by her side—her comfort at night and her travel companion on every adventure.
Charlie is survived by her loving father, Jason A. Bell; her siblings, Nicholas Bell, Zayne Bell, Genesis Stockton-Bell, Mathew Connelly, Patrick Connelly, Jacob Elbert, Noah Elbert, and Gabriel Elbert; her grandmother, Betty Bell; and many extended family members including her great aunt Shirley Berving, aunts and uncles Daniel, Jimmy, Nicholas, and Amy.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Rachel B. Elbert, who passed alongside her in the same tragic accident.
Charlie’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, curiosity, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, her adventurous spirit, and the happiness she brought into the lives of those around her.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, 1221 Washington St, Hermann, MO 65041, where memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be given to the funeral home to help cover expenses.
“Charlie, being your dad was the greatest honor of my life. I am so proud of you, and I will hold onto your love, your smile, and your spirit forever. Be at peace my Charlie Bear.”
