Carl Eugene Steiner, 80, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at The Timbers Assisted Living, Holts Summit, Missouri.
Carl was born in Gasconade, Missouri on December 4, 1945, the son of the late James E. & Cecilia G. (Jacquin) Steiner.
He was the widower of Sharon M. (Nolte) Steiner. They were united in marriage on September 9, 1978, at Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri. They shared 35 years of marriage together. Sharon preceded him in death on February 2, 2014.
Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964-1966. He was a river boat pilot for the US Army Corp of Engineers.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City, Missouri, American Legion Post 5 in Jefferson City, F.O.E. Aerie 1328 in Hermann and the NRA. In his free time Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling.
Carl is survived by a daughter-in-law, Tina Nolte, of Morrison, Missouri; three grandsons, Ryan Nolte & wife Elizabeth, of Holts Summit, Missouri; C.J. Nolte & wife Kristy, of Chamois, Missouri; and Hunter Nolte & wife Kayla, of Chamois, Missouri; six great grandchildren, four brothers, Leo Steiner, of Warrenton, Missouri; Cecil Steiner & wife Rosemarie, of Hermann, Missouri; Fred Steiner & wife Betty, of Killeen, Texas; and John Steiner & wife Kim, of Gasconade, Missouri; and three sisters-in-law, Karen Steiner, of Warrenton, Missouri; Mary Ann Steiner, of Hermann, Missouri; and Jeanette Birk & husband Brad, of Morrison, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a step son, Randy Nolte, two brothers, Harold & James Steiner and a sister-in-law Nina Steiner.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father David Means officiating.
Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Assumption Church or St. Peter Catholic Church.
