Brian Molloy Obituary

Brian Edward Molloy, age 66, passed-away suddenly on October 6 from a short battle with cancer.

Brian was born and raised in Chicago and then later moved to St. Louis when he met his wife, Bartow. In 2003, they bought a small log cabin outside of town as a weekend getaway. They quickly realized how great life could be living in the country so in 2006, they moved to the area for good. Brian loved living in the Hermann community with its vitality, close friendships, and tranquility.

Brian started his career working for AT&T and worked there for 33 years in various positions. After retiring from AT&T, he continued in his project management position as a consultant where he managed JP Morgan Chase’s ATM network in North America. Brian retired in 2014 so he and his wife, Bartow, could fulfill their dream of travel.

Brian loved his Cardinals and could always be seen wearing their baseball cap. He loved relaxing at home with a beer on a stool in the kitchen where he and his neighbor would solve all the problems in the world. He loved the friends he had made throughout life and was known to spend hours on the phone catching-up. And, most of all, Brian could always make you laugh.

Brian is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bartow; his sister-in-law, Pollie Hughes; his brother and sister in-laws, Dick and Maitland Lammert; his brother and sister in-laws, Martin and Karen Lammert; his niece Meredith Shrinivas and her husband Shaum; nephew, Martin Lammert; and nephew Michael Hughes and his wife Sara; and nephew Ted Hughes and his wife Jess.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Christmas Program – 170 Blue Pride Drive, c/o Dawn Grosse, Hermann, MO 65041. This program provides toys and clothes to needy children at Christmas. Brian loved shopping for their gifts.
