Bobby Gene Curtis II, 70, of Portland, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Capital Region Medical Center , Jefferson City, Missouri.
Bobby was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 28, 1951, the son of Bobby Gene Curtis & Emma Ellen (Brinkley) Shoemaker.
He was the husband of Sandy R. (Jones) Curtis. They were united in marriage on June 14, 1973, in Clayton, Missouri.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Bobby loved his job. He designed, built and flew ultra light aircraft, including Aerolite and Aerotique Parasol planes.
In his free time he enjoyed scuba diving, skydiving, building planes, wood working, mountain men rendezvous, hunting and fishing, planting trees and golfing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bobby is survived by his mother, Emma Shoemaker, of Centerville, Missouri; his wife, Sandy Curtis, of the home; two daughters, Catherin E. Green & husband Christopher, of Piedmont, Missouri; and Jessica R. Curtis, of Montgomery City, Missouri; by three sisters, Carol Santhuff, of Centerville, Missouri; Pamela Johnson, of Wright City, Missouri; and Fawn Eblen, of Troy, Missouri; by 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, a son, Bobby Gene Curtis III and a daughter, Tracy Brewer.
No services will be held. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
