Bernard Meyer Obituary

Bernard Henry Meyer, 83, of New Haven, MO, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 28th, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
 
Bernard was born at his parent's farm outside of New Haven on December 29, 1938, the 6th of nine children of the late Andreas J. and Clara E. (Frankenberg) Meyer.  He received his education from Assumption Grade School and St. Francis Borgia High School.  
 
He is survived by Malinda S. (Curry-Jennings) Meyer, his wife of 34 years.
 
Bernie is also survived by three daughters, Kendra McDonald & husband Mike, of Boca Raton, Florida; Tamra Meyer-Stahl of Camdenton, Missouri; and Nancy Kahn & husband Alan, of Bonita Springs, Florida; by two sons, John Meyer & wife Linette, of Phoenix, Arizona;  and Don Meyer & wife Erin, of New Melle, Missouri; three step sons, Mike Jennings & wife Carie, of Wildwood, Missouri; Dave Jennings & wife Susan, of Hillsboro, Missouri; and Jeff Jennings, of Washington, Missouri; by five siblings, Catherine Schlatt, Anthony Meyer, Barbara Noelke (Gene), Ruth Spaunhorst (Jerome) and John Meyer (Brenda), 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.  
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Marie Meyer and Dorothy Meyer, a brother Leo Meyer, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Meyer, a brother-in-law, Leo Schlatt, a grandchild, Corey McDonald, and a nephew, Daniel Meyer.
 
For nearly 60 years, Bernie shared his passion for farming with his brother Leo, with much appreciated help from his family.  He enjoyed finding treasures at auctions and flea markets, enjoying a cup of coffee with friends around town, fishing with his grandchildren, attending tractor pulls, and listening to the "Marty Stuart" show.
 
Visitation will be held Friday, March 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.  To protect our most vulnerable family members, we kindly request masks be worn.
 
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, New Haven, with Father John Deken and Father Jim Foster officiating.
 
Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mercy Hospice or New Haven Senior Center.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
