Barbara Mae "Duckie" John, 79, of New Haven, MO, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Barbara was born in Washington, Missouri on May 16, 1942, the daughter of the late August & Evelyn (Kleekamp) Steffens.
Barbara was married to Glenn Pehle and to this union three children were born. She was later remarried to Edward John Jr., who precedes her in death.
Barbara worked for Langenburg Hat Factory in New Haven, then for Hazel in Washington, and lastly for Farberware at the Lake of the Ozarks.
In her free time she loved to fish at the Lake of the Ozarks, gardening and canning, baking, playing bingo and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Barbara is survived by three daughters, Michelle Rice & husband Rodney, of Washington, Missouri; Teresa Harris, of Fayetteville, Georgia; and Melissa Pehle-Hoemann & husband Donald, of New Haven, Missouri; by four sisters, Helen Sands, of Labadie, Missouri; Jeanie Becker & husband Donald, of Labadie, Missouri; Martha Owens & husband Ronnie, of Labadie, Missouri; and Alvera Dothage, of Labadie, Missouri; by three brothers, George Steffens & wife Linda, of Labadie, Missouri; Robert Steffens & wife Sandy, of Labadie, Missouri; and Richard Steffens & wife Becky, of Washington, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Danny, Amy, Travis and Jamie, by six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Emma, Nikola, Devin, Aubrey and Brooke and her beloved dog, Sky.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her second husband Edward John Jr. and a brother, James Steffens.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
