Barbara M. Humburg

Barbara M. Humburg passed away on January 11, 2021 at Stonebridge Hermann. 

She was the daughter of Harvey and Selma (Ball) Humburg.  Barbara was born in Hermann and grew up on the family farm. 

She attended Hermann Elementary School and graduated from Hermann High School in 1966. She then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, earning a degree in Horticulture and Landscaping Design. Following graduation Barbara worked for Hillermann's Nursery in Washington. She retired from Hillermann's and preceded to help her father on the farm until his passing. Barbara continued to farm and did farmers market with her mother, Selma, until health problems made her unable to continue gardening. 

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermann, Missouri, where she helped with the landscaping at the church for many years. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, by a brother-in-law Lloyd Theissen, and a niece Tina Theissen Staley. She is survived by her mother, her three sisters, Ileen Theissen, Beverly & husband Mike Theissen, and Sheila and husband Alvin Theissen, by aunts Nellie Romaker, JoAnn Ball, & Ruth and husband Dr. Richard Holliday, & numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Barbara loved God, her country, family, nature, and the farm. She was a friendly outgoing, & helpful person. 

Interment will be in the Suedmeyer Family Cemetery on the Humburg-Suedmeyer Family Farm. A memorial service in her honor will be held at a later date.
