Alice Stephny (Krykewich) Schweighauser - Rost

Alice Stephny Schweighauser - Rost, 83, of Morrison, Missouri, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 4, 2022 at her home.

Alice was born February 6, 1939 in Winnepeg, Manitoba Canada to the late Mike and Magdeline (Lucenko) Krykewich.

She lived and attended grade school in Cooks Creek, Manitoba, Canada, and then attended High School and graduated in Gimli, Manitoba Canada. 

Alice was married to Myron C. Rost on September 30, 2000 in Morrison, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on August 24, 2002. 

Alice owned and operated Schweighauser Store in Morrison from 1971-1976.  She also worked at Florsheim Shoe Company in Hermann for 11 years, at Greenfield Research in Hermann for 7 years and as a CNA at Frene Valley G&R in Hermann for 12 years.

Alice was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morrison for 51 years. She enjoyed playing Cribbage, listening to music from her large record collection, making Christmas cards, admiring her angel, coffee cup and tea cup collections. She also enjoyed her daily walks around the block. 

She is survived by her children, Valerie Greene of Puerto Moreles, Mexico and Hans (Dawn) Schweighauser of Troy, MO., grandchildren, Erica (Ryan) Johnson of Fresno, CA., Brent Schweighauser of Hermann, MO., Michael Schweighauser of Troy, MO., Jonathan Schweighauser of Troy, MO., and Angel Schweighauser of Wentzville, MO., and 5 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kylee, Adeline, Axton, and Cameron. She is also survived by her step-children, Charles Rost of Morrison, MO., Annette Henley of Henley, MO., James Rost of Morrison, MO., Steve Rost of O’Fallon, MO., Glenn Rost of Quincy, IL., and Angela Pool of Hazelwood, MO.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Walter and Bill Krykewich and step-children, Patrick and Edward Rost.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 15th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Assumption Church.
