Albert Bauer Obituary

Albert Herman Bauer, 80, of Leslie, Missouri, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on December 29, 2025.

Albert was born on March 27, 1945, in Leslie, Missouri, the son of Fred Bauer and Laura (née Banken). He received his education at Holy Family School in Port Hudson and was a lifelong member of Holy Family Church in Port Hudson.

A devoted husband, father of 5 children, grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and great-grandfather to 4 great-grandchildren, Albert lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and service to others. A proud United States Army veteran and skilled carpenter, he took great pride in his work and believed strongly in doing things the right way.

Albert was a member of the Carpenters Union, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion, reflecting his commitment to faith, brotherhood, and country. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and children and their families, as well as time in his shed working on his tractors and enjoying his pipe.

Albert was united in marriage to Rita Patke on October 28, 1967, at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington, Missouri. Together they shared a lifetime of love and raised a close-knit family.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Bauer; his son, Douglas Bauer of Rosebud, and wife Melissa; his daughters, Michelle Landwehr of Washington, and husband Jeffrey, Tammy Olszowka of Union, and husband Michael, Cindy Koenigsfeld of Union, and husband Ted, and Jennifer Zimmermann of Leslie, and husband Anton; his grandchildren, Kyle Bauer and wife Madeline, Kristen LaGarce and husband Devin, Kory Bauer, Philip Landwehr and wife Mollie, Alyson Pennock and husband Courtland, Maguire Landwehr, Grace Landwehr, Sophia Olszowka, Casey Olszowka, Lucy Koenigsfeld, Millie Koenigsfeld, Lillie Zimmermann, Louis Zimmermann, and Edward Zimmermann; his great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lenora Bauer, Baker Landwehr, and Rosalie LaGarce; and many beloved nephews, nieces, four sisters-in-law, and friends.
