H. Alan Pierson, 80 years old, died February 1st, 2022 at his home in New Florence, MO surrounded by family.
Alan was born on January 9th, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan. Alan was the son of the late Stanley and Kathryn (Bond) Pierson.
Alan married his high school sweetheart, Janet (Shelton) Pierson, on January 27th, 1962 at the First Christian Church in Montgomery City, MO. Alan and Janet had a long, happy life together. They recently had their 60th wedding anniversary.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Janet, and three children. Oldest child is Cheryl Edington and husband Greg of Columbia, MO. Second child is Lynda Pagnotta and husband George of Brick, New Jersey. His third child is Jason Pierson and wife Heather of New Florence, MO. Alan is also loved by five granddaughters, Tara (Columbia MO), Nicole and Carissa (Brick, NJ), Katie and Megan (New Florence, MO) and two grandsons, Ryan (Columbia, MO) and Lucas (New Florence, MO). Alan is survived by three great grandchildren, Isabella (Columbia, Mo) Dominic and Silvio (Brick, NJ). Alan is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Joyce Stock (Jonesburg, MO), Janice Schloeman (Wright City, MO).
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother Russell, and his two brothers-in-law, Clifford Stock and Norman Schloeman.
Alan and his father started a GMC truck dealership (Pierson and Sons GMC) in 1946. Alan never retired. The business adapted – to used trucks and repairs in 1999. Alan and his son, Jason have worked as partners together in the business for the last 30+ years. Alan also had a passion for airplanes. He owned his 1st plane when he was 15 years old. He also owned a Midget Mustang, Piper Cherokee Pathfinder, and a 140 Cherokee. He earned his commercial pilots license and flew for the business for many years. Alan owned a total of 16 airplanes and logged over 11,000 hours.
Alan loved taking trips with his family and seeing the world. Alan also had a passion for car shows, plane / car museums, and old trucks. His main love was his family. His wife and extended family were his entire life. Papa/Grandpa was the center of attention with his stories anytime he had an audience to tell them! He was generous and loving to everyone he met. Alan will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at High Hill Christian Church, 852 Booneslick Rd, High Hill, Missouri. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the New Florence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Alan’s memory to the High Hill Christian Church. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home
