Robert "Bob" Dale Hartman, 70, of Norris City, IL, formerly of Rhineland and Hermann, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado, Illinois.
Bob was born in Washington, Missouri on July 14, 1949, a son of the late Virgil H. & Gladys K. (Hackmann) Hartman.
Bob grew up in the Starkenburg, Missouri area, where he attended church at St. Martin's Church and also St. Joseph's Church in Rhineland. He was a graduate of St. George High School in 1967, where he was very active in sports. He went to a state track meet and won state championship in long jump and 60 yard dash, and he also played basketball. After high school he attended Lincoln University and later University of Missouri, in Columbia.
Bob was the owner of Bankston Creek Land Trust. He was also a farmer and an insurance agent.
Bob is survived by a special friend, Sarah Healy, of Norris City, Illinois, a son, Craig Hartman & wife Laura, of O'Fallon, Missouri; a son, Chad Hartman & wife Jill, of Wentzville, Missouri; a daughter, Kirsten Parr & husband Jason, of Rhineland, Missouri; a son, Cody Hartman & wife Brianna, of Ft. Hood, Texas; a step-son, Dave Guyton & wife Jenny, of St. Louis, Missouri; a step-daughter, Cristen Woolston & husband Colin, of Oregon; a sister, Carol Elsenraat, of Hermann, Missouri; a brother, Gary Hartman & wife Miranda, of Rhineland, Missouri; a sister, Mary Horstmann & husband Dennis, of Hermann, Missouri; a brother, David Hartman & wife Diane, of Hermann, Missouri, by 14 grandchildren, Aislinn, Savanah, Danielle, Madeline, Kyra, Olivia, Brennan, Bailey, Will, Marissa, Ethan, Charlotte, Fen, and Ani, and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, James Elsenraat, and a niece, Melissa Elsenraat.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21st from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, Missouri, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
