Lou Von Behren, 79, of Lee’s Summit, MO, formerly from New Haven, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 after battling Congestive Heart Failure.

Lou was born in rural New Haven on February 26, 1938.

He was married to Jeanelle (Logan) on December 5, 1959 in Union, MO.

Lou was a surveyor for the US Army Corps of Engineers for nearly 25 years, retired in 1992 and loved his time on the MO River.  After retiring, Lou and Jeanelle traveled with the highlight being nine trips to Germany where he had been stationed (1956-1958) while serving in the U.S. Army.  In 2000, they moved to Lee’s Summit, MO to be closer to their daughters and grandkids.  

Lou is survived by his wife Jeanelle, of the home, daughters Julie Neal (Jon Hukill) and Nina Von Behren (Denise Valadez), sisters Selma Holtgrewe and Mildred Brandt, grandchildren Riley and Jacob Neal and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Harvey Von Behren and Sister Lorene Brandt.  

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21st from 10:00 – noon at Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where memorial services will follow at noon, with Rev. David Poe officiating.  

Burial will be at Immanuel United Methodist Cemetery, Senate Grove, immediately following the services.
