Leona Emma Engemann, 90, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Leona was born in Case, Missouri on October 8, 1926, a daughter of the late Albert & Augusta (Meyer) Edler.

She was united in marriage to Elmer Gray and to this union two sons were born, Edgar & Bryan.  Elmer preceded her in death on September 21, 1988.  Leona was later married to Joseph Engemann on May 31, 1992 at St. George Church, Hermann.  

Leona was a member of St. George Church, Hermann.  She was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Gore Case Community Club.  

She worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Hermann for several years.  She was also a housewife and helped on the family farm.  In her free time Leona loved to garden, to do embroidery work and quilting.  She made several quilts for many family members over the years.

Leona is survived by her husband Joe,  her two sons, Edgar Gray & wife Bonny, of St. Pete Beach, Florida; and Bryan Gray, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, by four granddaughters, Heather Gray, of New York; Amanda Yagnik, of London; Tammy Gray, of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Bobbie Jo Gray, of Patuxent River, Maryland and by one great grandson, Max Yagnik.   She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Elmer Gray, by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating. 

Burial will be at Loutre Island Cemetery,  McKittrick, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to St. George Church or American Diabetes Association.   C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
