John L. Rucker, 88, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at home.
John was born in Maryland Heights, Missouri on January 3, 1931, a son of the late John W. & Emma Mary (Berdohlt) Rucker.
He was the widower of Pauline G. (Dempsey) Rucker. They were unied in marriage on June 10, 1950, in Overland, Missouri. Pauline preceded him in death on October 29, 2017.
John is survived by eight children, Sandra Remedies & husband Joseph, of Zwolle, Louisiana; John Rucker, Jr., of Hermann; Elizabeth Eldringhoff & husband Verus, Jr., of Hermann; Karen Remondet & husband Myron, of Reserve, Louisiana; Debbie Haley & Tom Busch, of New Haven; Patty Rucker, of Hermann; Pam Deslatte & husband Donald, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; and Jimmy Rucker, of Hermann; by 19 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Garrison, of Hannibal, Missouri; and a brother, Linn Rucker, of St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, by three brothers, Bill, Larry, & Joe Rucker, and a sister Violet Rucker.
John worked for Ford Motor Company for many years. After leaving Ford Motor he started his own business in the oil field industry which he did for over 25 years. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf & going fishing.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 11th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley.
Burial will be at Loutre Island Cemetery, McKittrick, Missouri. Memorials may be given to St. George Church or Loutre Island Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
