John Amos Findlay, 84, of New Haven, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home.

John was born in Berger, Missouri on January 21, 1933, a son of the late John Findlay & Ruth (Hale) Schulte.

He was the husband of Ruth (Pointer) Findlay.   They were united in marriage on November 20, 1975, at St. Peters U.C.C., New Haven. 

John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a member of the 21st Fighter-Bomber Squadren in Europe and was discharged in 1956.  He worked for Langenburg Hat Factory as a foreman.  In his free time he enjoyed camping,  going to flee markets and antique shops with Ruth,  and fishing, especially with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife Ruth, of the home; a son John Findlay, of New Haven, two daughters, Linda Findlay, of Marshfield, Missouri; and Kim Findlay, of Springfield, Missouri; by a step-daughter Jenny White & husband John, of Eldon, Missouri; step-daughter, Cathy Findlay, of Marshfield, Missouri; step-daughter, Donna LaBruyere & husband Bud, of Hermann, Missouri; and step-son, Bill Maczuk & wife Diane, of New Haven,  by a sister, Shirley Ann Trippe & husband Bill, of St. Louis, Missouri;  by step-brothers, Donald Schulte, of Hermann, Missouri;  Jim Schulte & wife Gladys, of Hermann, Missouri;  and Carrol Schulte & wife Betty, of Greensboro, North Carolina;  a step-sister, Georgia Ann Rohlfing & husband Lloyd, of New Haven, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Gladys Findlay, of Wentzville, Missouri and by beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Harry Schulte, by a son William Findlay,  by a brother Robert Findlay and a step-sister Shirley Speckhals.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. 

Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery,  Berger, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or New Haven Methodist Church.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
