Irene Clara Schroer, 87, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Irene was born in Hermann, Missouri on January 3, 1930, a daughter of the late Leo G. & Veronica M. (Elsenraat) Buecker.

She was united in marriage  to Kermit M. Schroer on May 30, 1959, in Hermann, Missouri.  Kermit preceded her in death on April 18, 1998. 

Irene was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, and of the Hermann V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

She worked for Florsheim and International Shoe Companies for many years until she decided to take time off to stay at home and raise her children.  She stayed busy as a homemaker and doing different side jobs.  After her children were grown she went back to work as a cook for the Hermann Elementary School for several years. 

Irene is survived by her son, Dale Schroer & wife Terry, of Rhineland; by four daughters, Lisa Diebal, of Hermann, Missouri; Christine Soellner, of Washington, Missouri; Lynne Schroer, of Wentzville, Missouri; and Marcia Neisler & husband Jared, of Ballwin, Missouri; by two sisters, Emilie Noelke & husband James, of Washington, Missouri; and Frances Koch & husband Dennis, of Hermann, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Bernice Schroer, of New Florence, by 10 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and by a sister Leonora Eberlin.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 5th from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m.  at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann. 

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, with Father Ed Mundwiller officiating. 

Burial will be at St. George Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to St. George Church.   C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
