Imogene M. (Elsenraat) Strassner

Imogene M. Strassner, 83, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at her home.

Imogene was born in Rhineland, Missouri on October 14, 1936, a daughter of the late Paul & Olivia (Hagedorn) Elsenraat.

She was the wife of LeRoy H. Strassner.   They were united in marriage on April 23, 1955, at St. Joseph Church, Rhineland, Missouri.  LeRoy survives at the home.

Imogene is also survived by their five daughters, Susie King & husband Ron, of St. Peters, Missouri; Janet LaBoube & husband Dale, of Hermann, Missouri; Brenda Bardwell & husband Greg, of Rhineland, Missouri; Carla Heisler & husband Kurt, of Versailles, Missouri; and Paula Schannuth & husband Scott, of Hermann, Missouri; by her grandchildren, Tim King, Lindsay Hanes & husband Matt, Stephanie Hughes, Michelle Schwartze & husband Tyler, Craig LaBoube & wife Emily, Kristy Meyer, Katie Sweet & husband Robert, Jessica Bardwell, Tommy Bardwell, Eric Heisler & wife Sarah, Nick Heisler, Olivia Heisler, and Gabriela, Alex, and Andrew Schannuth, by her great-grandchildren, Mila, Ava, Ashlyn, Dalaney, Colton, Mabrey, Trace, Ryan, Lucas, Kaylee, Emma, Imogene, Owen, Jazmin, Camden, and Landon, by two brothers, Sib Elsenraat & wife Mary Alice, of Rhineland, Missouri; Harold Elsenraat & wife Jennifer, of Rhineland, Missouri; a sister, Ruth Ann Speckhals, of Hermann, Missouri; by three brothers-in-law, George Strassner & wife Carol, of O'Fallon, Missouri; Richard Strassner & wife Roberta, of Bridgeton, Missouri; and Dave Strassner & wife Mary Beth, of Hermann, Missouri; and by many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, Cyril & Eugene, one great-grandson, Caleb Schwartze, a brother-in-law, Melvin Speckhals, and an infant sister-in-law, Eilene Strassner.

Imogene owned & operated Strassner Upholstery and later Strassner Furniture & Upholstery Store with her husband LeRoy for over 30 years.  She was a member of St. George Catholic Church, where she was active in the ladies sodality, and in the church choir.  She was also a member of Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Hermann Hospital Auxiliary, and on the board of the local food pantry.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 24th from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home . 

A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating. 

Burial will be at St. George Cemetery. Memorials may be given to  St. George School, St. George Church or Hermann Hospital. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
