Howard Riek, 96, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at Hermann Area District Hospital.

Howard was born in Augusta, Missouri on July 25, 1920, a son of the late Phil & Louise (Voss) Riek.

Howard was the widower of Mildred (Gregory) Riek.   They were married on May 10, 1946, in St. Charles, Missouri. She preceded him in death on February 6, 1999.

Howard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII.  He was an engineer in the steel fabrication industry.  He also was an estimator for government contracts. 

Howard was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Hermann, the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182, American Legion Post 208, of Manchester, the Hermann Lions Club and Loutre Shore Country Club, Hermann.

Howard is survived by a daughter, Lisa Irwin & husband Greg, of Pacific, Missouri; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren,  and  a brother, Virray "Duff" Riek & wife Marge, of Ballwin, Missouri.   He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Don Riek, a sister Mae Riek and a dear companion Ruby Jackisch.
 
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. David Rawlings officiating.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Ellisville, MO.  Memorials may be given to Hermann Lions Club.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
