Harlow Shapley Gammon, 81, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at SSM St. Joseph Health Center, St. Charles.
Harlow was born in Bluffton, Missouri on February 24, 1938, a son of the late Elmer L. "Pat" & Marie D. (Grotewiel) Gammon.
He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Jenkerson) Gammon. They were united in marriage on December 2, 1964, in St. Charles, Missouri. Barbara survives at the home.
Harlow is also survived by their two children, Patricia Lampe & David Gammon, both of St. Charles; by three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Misha, & Sammy, and by one great grandchild, Kathryn. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Roy Gammon.
Harlow proudly served his country in the United States Army between the Korean & Vietnam War. He worked for Ryder Truck Rental. He also worked at Norm's Shell Service Station in St. Charles. He was a former member of the District 9 Machinist, of St. Louis.
Harlow enjoyed working on his farm, working on his cars, and hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman and prefered living in the country.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 7th 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Florence, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, High Hill. Memorials may be given to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery or American Cancer Society. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
