Gregory A. Leeper, 69, of Hermann, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at his home.
Gregory was born in Gasconade, Missouri on July 25, 1949, a son of the late James Bonnie & Alice Rosella (Shellhammer) Leeper.
He was the husband of Mary Lynn (Howard) Leeper. They were united in marriage on June 8, 1974, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann. Mary survives at their home.
Gregory is also survived by their two children, Tara Zaugg & husband Dustin, of Clinton, Missouri; and Jed Leeper & wife Ericia, of Salem, Oregon; by six grandchildren, Brandon, Sydney & Grady Watson, Kyle & Ryland Zaugg, and Nora Leeper; two brothers, Robert Leeper & wife Sharon, of Hermann; and Darrell Leeper & wife Teresa, of Fulton, Missouri; a sister, Mary Ellen Leeper, of Texas; two sisters-in-law, June Howard & Andrea Johnson, both of Livingston, Texas; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, by three sisters, Bonnie Wehmeyer, Jevota Fulghum, and Myrna Krattli, and one brother, James Leeper.
Gregory proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. He worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and worked most of his career on the Dredge Boat Potter and was a pilot for five years.
Gregory was a member of the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182 and the Hermann Eagles. He enjoyed horseback riding, classic cars, collecting guns, and going to gun shows.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 12th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m..at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating.
