Gloria Astrid (Ahnell) Haerer

Gloria Astrid Haerer, 80, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Jordan Creek Nursing & Rehab,  Springfield, Missouri. 

Gloria was born in Blue Island, Illinois on February 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Suno Ahnell & Rose (Sofiak) Hiller.

She was the wife of Bernell Haerer.  They were united in marriage on July 4, 1970, in Quincy, Illinois.   Bernell survives at their home in Springfield.

Gloria is also survived by their daughter, Janeen Plummer & husband David; by two granddaughters, Heather Phillips & husband Josh, and Heidi Lechner & husband Nick, by a grandson, Heath Plummer, a brother, Arden Ahnell & a sister Sylvia Gervais.

Gloria was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Springfield, Missouri.  She was a book keeper and secretary.  She was the secretary for the Mayor of Quincy, IL.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Karla Frost officiating. 

Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association or St. John's U.C.C., Springfield.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
