Geneva M. (Pack) Sontag

Geneva M. Sontag, 91, of Morrison, MO, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at General Baptist Nursing Home, Linn, Missouri. 

Geneva was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 31, 1927, a daughter of the late Paul Henry & Virginia (Thompson) Pack.

She was the widow of Henry Raymond Sontag.   They were united in marriage on March 24, 1947, in Gasconade, Missouri.  Henry preceded her in death on February 21, 1995.

Geneva attended elementary school in St. Aubert, Missouri and high school in Chamois. She was a member of Gasconade Union Church, Gasconade, Missouri, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking pies and cakes, making home cooked meals, especially fried chicken and barbecuing.  Nothing pleased her more than to have All the family seated at her table for her meals.  She also loved her animals and also enjoyed trout fishing and doing yard work.

Geneva is survived by a son, Terry Sontag & wife Karen, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a daughter, Virginia Rose & husband Dennis, of Chamois, Missouri; a son-in-law, Dallas Erfling, of Hermann, Missouri; a brother, Elston Pack & wife Gloria, of Kansas City, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Wyatt Erfling & wife Casey; Tarah Litton & husband Jeff; Jennah Sontag; Lauren Faerber & husband Brandon; and Jordan Erfling; by five great grandchildren, Taylor & Jeffrey Litton, Trace Erfling, and Temperance & Hawken Faerber, and by several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Brenda Erfling, a brother Paul Marvin Pack, and sisters, LaVerne Rice, Viola Sanders, Helen Rippstein, & Myrna Smith.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Lowell Perkins officiating. 

Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison, Missouri. Memorials may be given to Good Hope Cemetery or First Assembly of God, Jefferson City or Gasconade Union Church.
