Dorothy E. Gaertner, 93, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Parkside Manor, Columbia, Missouri. 

Dorothy was born in McKittrick, Missouri on October 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Alvin & Frances (Karl) Schannuth.

She was the widow of Walter A. Gaertner.   They were united in marriage on May 17, 1947, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann.   Walter preceded her in death on May 25, 2016.

Dorothy is survived by five daughters, Lee Paige, of Columbia, Missouri; Shirley Ovcina & husband Safet, of St. Louis, Missouri; Norma Shoupe, of Columbia, Missouri; Bonnie Harvey & husband Jack, of Marshall, Missouri; and Kathy Price & husband Russell, of Bridgeton, Missouri, by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, a son-in-law, Walter Shoupe, three sisters, Marie Edler, Alma Humburg, and Anna Mae Lenger and by a brother Alvin Schannuth.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26th from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann.  Memorials may be given to Alzheimers Association.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
