Donald Hugo Held, 87, of Morrison, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home.

Donald was born in Pershing, Missouri, on Oct. 19, 1929, a son of the late Benjamin George and Welma (Bohl) Held.

He was the husband of Elizabeth "Bettie" (Held) Held. They were united in marriage on Nov. 18, 1953, in Platka, Florida. Bettie survives at the home.

Donald is also survived by three daughters, Barbara Hemeyer and husband David, of Jefferson City, Cynthia Stafford, of Holts Summit, Missouri, and Carol Branson, of Owensville, Missouri; by a son, Andrew Held and wife Vicki, of Hermann, Missouri; by a sister, Marilyn Homeister, of Tiffin, Ohio; by two brothers, Robert Held, of Morrison, Missouri, and James Held and wife Betty, of Hermann, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Jennifer Hemeyer, of Jefferson City, Eric Hemeyer and wife Dala, of Jefferson City, Lucy Stafford, of St. Peters, Missouri, Charles Witzigman, of Springfield, Missouri, and Benjamin Held, of Warrensburg, Missouri; by four great-grandchildren, Alex, Ella, Will, and Jett.

He is preceded in death by his parents; by a son, Timothy Held; and one grandson, Michael Keeling.

Donald was a member of Zion-St. Peter United Church of Christ, Pershing, Missouri, where he served as an active Board Member on the church council. He was a farmer. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and to barbecue, as Don was the Missouri State Champion three times at the Missouri State Fair. Don loved to trap and he made some of the finest trapping boards in the country.

Private services will be held.  Memorials donations may be given to Zion-St. Peter's U.C.C., Pershing, in care of Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
