Darlene M. Owensby, 86, of Gasconade, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.
Darlene was born in Morrison, Missouri on January 23, 1932, a daughter of the late Fred & Mamie (Seifert) Edler. She attended the Lange School and then the Wittenbach School
She was married to George Utterling on June 30, 1949 at the United Church of Christ Parsonage in Morrison. She was later married to Paul E. Owensby, Sr. They were united in marriage on July 19, 1985, in Charleston, Missouri. Paul preceded her in death on July 3, 1998.
Darlene was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, Missouri, where she was a member & past president of the Ladies Fellowship and also in the quilting circle, which she enjoyed very much.
She worked at both Florsheim Shoe & International Shoe Factories as a stitcher. She also was a farm wife, she worked and lived on a farm and raised cattle and hogs.
Darlene is survived by a nephew Donnell Leimkuehler & wife Caron, of Holts Summit, Missouri; a great niece Cheri Walz & husband Ted, of Eldon, Missouri; a great nephew Scott Leimkuehler & wife Jodi, of Swisher, Iowa; a niece Darlene Schneider & husband Jerry, of Hermann, Missouri; a sister-in-law Adala Uthe, of Morrison, Missouri; two step-sons, Paul Owensby, Jr. & wife Jackie, of Bland, Missouri; and Mark Owensby, of Vandalia, Illinois, a step-daughter Terri Britt & husband John, of Vandalia, Illinois, by many step-grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and by three sisters, LaVerne Stahlman, Diana Edler and Lillian Johnson, a nephew Melvin Stahlman, and a step-son Mike Owensby.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison.
Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison. Memorials may be given to St. James U.C.C. or Good Hope Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
