Carl was such a friendly guy, fun to meet when he was walking his postal rounds.
I have good memories of Carl coming to borrow a corn sheller in the Autumn to shell corn that he had picked up in the fields, to feed the squirrels and birds.

My grandson and I went to visit with Carl & Eunice several weeks ago and it was fun discussing his childhood and their fishing trips.

Years ago he would talk about visiting the big Thresher's Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and we finally attended the Reunion and now it has become a yearly event for us. This year was our 8th visit there!

I am so sorry I can't drive down to Hermann tomorrow. We babysit our grandson, age 4, as his mom is finishing her last semester at Mizzou.
